感恩節購物是美國人的傳統，但是今年被冠狀病毒大流行破壞的體無完膚，其中至少有10家主要零售商原本在2019年的感恩節持續開業賺進大把鈔票，但是今年被冠狀病毒給攪壞了，決定今年關閉商店。但是商家仍鼓勵購物者提早在線購物，以取代出門購物。畢竟在感恩節擁擠的商店購物是傳播風險相當高的活動。至於黑色星期五呢？大多數主要零售商仍計劃繼續營業，但會採取更多的安全措施。
