隨著夏天的腳步近了，兩三個月的夏天您除了幫孩子們安排夏令營、或長達幾天或數週的旅遊行程外，是不是也在想著還有甚麼活動是可以穿插在其中但又不太傷荷包呢？其實您不用跑太遠，您住家附近熟悉的公園和社區活動中心可能就夠娛樂孩子們又不花到甚麼費用啦！今年的「公園內的夏日電影院」(Summer Movies in the Park) 活動，舉辦時間長達5個多月，從還沒放暑假的五月中下旬到開學後入秋的十月底(5/19-10/27)，您只要查好播放場次、帶著野餐墊、薄毯薄外套、海灘椅和爆米花可樂，就可以去公園享有一個特別又輕鬆的夜晚囉！！Summer Movies in the Park!！！
Summer Movies In the Park從2007年開始舉辦，為了加強居民的社區意識、增加居民對在地公園的使用率而設計，一開始只在聖地牙哥縣的4個社區公園辦理11場的電影播放，後因獲得熱烈迴響而年年擴大。此活動除了已經成為各地社區居民和厝邊彼此交流的好機會外，也是聖地牙哥和各地方機構單位聯合動員的好時機，包括聖地牙哥郡公園及社區活動中心部門、聖地牙哥市、Chula Vista市、 El Cajon市、 La Mesa 市、Lemon Grove市、 National City、 Oceanside市、Poway市、Vista 和USS Midway Museum都一同共襄盛舉，希望不管在何地、參加哪一場次的民眾，都能有個特別的觀影體驗、有個愉快難忘的夏日夜晚！
播放的電影多是去年年度大片，如《可可夜總會(COCO)》、《奇蹟男孩(Wonder)》、《STAR WARS：最後的絕地武士(Star Wars: The Last Jedi)》、《美女與野獸(Beauty and the Beast)》、《Cars 3：閃電再起(Cars 3)》、《蜘蛛人：返校日(Spider-Man: Homecoming) 》、《搶劫堅果店2(The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature)》等，也有一些是經典懷舊電影，可上官網依您鄰近的社區查詢，或點此2018SummerMovieSchedule電影播放列表PDF檔。
