駐洛杉磯台北經文處科技組組長張揚展表示,2018年諾貝爾醫學獎頒給兩位癌症的免疫療法先驅學者美國免疫學家艾利森(James P. Allison)和日本免疫學家本庶佑(Tasuku Honjo),使得癌症治療與預防科技更受矚目。聖地牙哥是全球生物科技及無線通訊的重鎮,特別是癌症的精準治療,全球聞名。此次科技研討會專注於如何運用跨領域技術,在癌症治療和預防方面的研究合作,開創新而有效的抗癌方法;此次研討會將匯集國立交通大學、陽明大學及洛杉磯加州大學(UCLA) 、UCSD、南加州大學(USC) ,以及SDSU的著名科技學者擔任講員,對這個議題展開討論和交流。

「癌症治療和預防的開創性研究」科技研討會,將由聖地牙哥中華科工聯誼會會長鄒明祥,和中央研究院院士暨UCSD教授錢煦共同主持,中央研究院院士暨UCLA 機械與航空航空工程傑出研究教授何志明擔任主題演講嘉賓,以「基於AI的個性化治療學」揭開研討會序幕。

研討會的主要講者及講題包括:UCSD放射學教授Eric T. Ahrens「用於體內免疫細胞無創可視化的新一代醫學成像工具」、交通大學臨床醫學研究所院長王雲銘「奈米粒子的診斷和治療應用」、陽明大學臨床醫學研究所教授楊慕華「了解轉移性癌症的運動性質」、UCSD藥理學暨生物工程和生化系教授Jin Zhang「用於治療癌症的照明細胞信號」、USC 醫學院臨床醫學副教授Mitchell Gross「基因組知情治療可改善癌症預後」、UCSD衛生系統病理學系臨床教授暨血液病理學系主任Huan-You Wang「下一代測序在血液淋巴結惡性腫瘤的診斷和治療中的作用」、SDSU移動時代人體動力學中心主任鄒明祥「使用地理信息系統繪製人口科學中的癌症差異」等。
